New Chair for Bridgwater and West Somerset Liberal Democrats10.35.00pm GMT Sun 30th Nov 2008 Marilyn Wallace has been elected as the new chair of Bridgwater and West Somerset Liberal Democrats. Marilyn, who lives in Chedzoy, is a former member of Sedgemoor District Council was elected as Chair at the AGM of Bridgwater and West Somerset Liberal Democrats held in Nether Stowey on Thursday (27th November). She succeeds Janice Beasley, from Cannington, who has served as Chair for the last three years. Commenting on the election Theo Butt Philip, Lib Dem Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Bridgwater and West Somerset said: "I am delighted that Marilyn has agreed to fulfil this vital role in what will be in important year for us with elections to the County Council and European Parliament in June. "Marilyn has been involved in the Liberal Democrats locally for many years as both an activist and a district councillor, her experience will be invaluable. "I would also like to pay tribute to Janie Beasley for the sterling work she has done as chair for the last year, she has been a great source of strength and support to me and to the whole of he Bridgwater and West Somerset Liberal Democrats."
