Liberal Democrat candidate for Bridgwater and West Somerset, Theo Butt Philip, appeared on Sunday morning's edition of the BBC's South West Politics Show to discuss rural affairs in the region.
Putting the spotlight on some of the party's proposals, Theo talked about the improvement in the lives of many rural families that will be brought about by Liberal Democrat policies to raise the personal income tax allowance and increase spending on education for pupils from the least well off backgrounds.
Theo also spoke about the importance of a sound environmental policy and the need to protect rural services, especially the Post Office network and small schools. Theo emphasized the need to provide affordable housing in rural communities.
